Join Our Team for a Summer of Fun and Fulfillment! AbilityFirst is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Arts and Crafts Program Leader for our summer camp.
This role is perfect for someone passionate about crafts and eager to share that passion with campers of all abilities.
If you have experience in crafting, enjoy working in a dynamic, supportive environment, and have a heart for making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities, we want you to join our team! What You'll Do Activity Planning and Implementation:
Develop and lead a diverse range of arts and crafts activities that are accessible and enjoyable for campers of all ability levels.
Staff Training:
Lead orientation and ongoing training for camp staff, focusing on safety, program area rules, and emergency procedures.
Supervision and Engagement:
Provide direct supervision to campers, ensuring a safe and enriching arts and crafts experience.
Program Area Maintenance:
Ensure the arts and crafts area is organized and that equipment and supplies are well-maintained.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Program Director and other camp staff to integrate arts and crafts into the broader camp program and special events.
Camper Care Support:
Assist in the personal care of campers, including mobility assistance and attending to daily living needs.
Season End
Responsibilities:
Evaluate the season's success, close the program area, and provide recommendations for future improvements.
Who You Are Experience in arts and crafts, with a strong background in creative project planning and execution.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
Physical ability to engage in camp activities and assist with camper care.
Must obtain American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certifications (training provided).
Commitment to following all AbilityFirst rules and policies.
Willingness to reside on camp premises during the session.
Conditional employment based on a background check and pre-employment physical exam, including a drug screen.
